Lifestyle and Amenities

With Atlanta's consistent growth, and many younger executives and business owners moving to the city, Country Club of the South recognizes the need to provide an environment where the professional family can feel at ease in a major metropolitan area while either at home or travelling. As a result, close to 700 families now share the community's peerless lifestyle. A 24-hour limited access program integrated into the provision of luxury amenities guarantees a safe and enjoyable environment for all residents and appeals to many of Atlanta's top corporate executive, sports professionals and entertainment personalities who choose to call Country Club of the South home.

Two community recreation centers are available to all Country Club of the South residents regardless of their golf club affiliation. The east park offers a competition swimming pool and sun deck, three tennis courts, football/soccer field, tot lot and a large recreation pavilion. The west park features four lighted tennis courts, basketball court, tot lot and pavilion.

The private membership country club features a 54,000 square-foot, lodge style facility overlooking the 18th green, recently ranked among the top five clubhouses in the Southeast by Southern Links magazine. Clubhouse facilities include formal dining, two private dining rooms, an outdoor garden terrace, bar, lounge and grill. Club amenities feature men's and women's locker rooms with showers, saunas, an exercise room and a golf pro shop. A separate swim and tennis center offers a Jr. Olympic swimming pool, six hard and six Rubico tennis courts and a pavilion with a tennis pro shop, locker rooms and food service.

Designed by Jack Nicklaus, our golf course offers one of the area's most scenic golf course settings. Lush pine and hardwood forests, rolling hills, lakes, streams and granite outcroppings were preserved to provide spectacular natural hazards and scenery. The 7,044-yard championship course played host to the Nationwide Championship, Georgia's only Senior PGA TOUR event, from 1991-1994 and was ranked as one of the top 10 Georgia golf courses by GolfWeek magazine in 1995

Community History and Facts

When legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus and dynamic golf community developer Bob Sierra first envisioned Country Club of the South, they saw it as a family-oriented, recreationally complete environment, characterized by an uncompromising dedication to excellence. Rolling hills, stately hardwoods, sparkling lakes and the historic Chattahoochee River would offer CCOS property owners an unparalleled choice of natural settings perfect for any lifestyle. Privacy and investment value would be safeguarded by the community's 24-hour security patrol and two limited-access gatehouses. It was a bold promise, approached with conviction, determination, and an unyielding pledge to it's fulfillment.

Today, with its gracious homes, broad, landscaped boulevards, commitment to community-wide integrity and comprehensive attention to minute detail, CCOS is widely recognized as Atlanta's most prestigious address.

Community security, landscape planning and design continuity are maintained by a Property Owners Association (POA).

A controlled-access policy ensures privacy and protects investment values. A 24-hour security force monitors both entry gates and maintains a full-time roving patrol of the community and its 6.5 mile, completely fenced perimeter.

Architectural Design Guidelines ensure excellence in architectural design and landscape preservation. Custom-designed street lighting, signage and mailboxes are testiment to our scrupulous dedication to detail.

The Property Owners Association provides such broad community services as year-round landscaping of common grounds and maintenance of the private greenhouse operations, guided by experienced horticulturists.

Of the 899 total acres, 210 acres are golf course property and 35.5 of the total are designated as lakes or wetlands.

Over 15,000 spring flower bulbs are planted on over 10 acres of landscaped common ground.

12 miles of roadway are owned and maintained by the POA.

Country Club of the South is conveniently situated in the rolling countryside of Alpharetta, within the vibrant North Fulton County growth corridor.

Superior schools, shopping, houses of worship and the finest medical facilities are all found nearby and Hartsfield International Airport is less than an hour's drive.
